Unicorned Woman by MonoAndME
Unicorned Woman
“Unicorned Woman” is finished and up for sale! If you’re interested in purchasing her, please do contact/PM me! (All my contact links can be found at the end of this post.)

I would like nothing more than to see her placed in a home that will get enjoyment from her.

I went for a bit of a fairy-in-stained-glass feel. She’s wearing a piece of forehead-unicorn-horn-jewelry, and has amazing bold, pink hair.

My Hubster brought his skills to it, helping me install the mounting hardware – screws on four corners, with rounded caps on the back, so it hangs evenly against a wall, and chain to hang it from.

I really can’t begin to describe how much I love hanging art from chain. I painted the screw-faces, and got the chain about the length I think works the best for this piece, although it is easily adjustable if desired.

She’s one of my personal favorites of my personal work.

Acrylic and Inks on a 22×30″ MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard), and heavily Gloss Lacquered.

This time around, I avoided using any Texture Mediums, and went with the flow of utilizing the layers of paint and ink for texture…

A dynamic husband & wife duo, Studio Mono&ME brings a whimsical take to custom Pet Portraits, & any other subject matter commissioned!

MaryElizabeth (The “ME” in Studio Mono&ME) has been wielding a paintbrush since the age of 3, giving her a long-standing, passionate relationship with most anything arts-related, specializing in Pet Portraits. She has a love of pets big or small, furry or feathery (or even scaly!), with a special place in her heart for shelter pets & rescues. (In fact, their very own Studio Companion, a Schnorkie named Gus, is a shelter rescue.) She has been the star of multiple art shows in Phoenix, AZ's Roosevelt Row Arts District, & many other locales!

Jonny "Mono" (The other half to the Marriage-Art-Zord... ) is responsible for the construction of the more custom orders, building canvas stretchers & mounting hardware to our buyer’s specifications & other behind the scenes work labor, including, but not limited to, print-work, & custom designed digital media.

In 2013, a friend saw some of my art I was working on for an art show, & asked me to paint a portrait of her Pomeranian & therapy dog, Snickers. This bloomed a new-found skill I didn’t know I had – the ability to apply my unique, whimsical art style, to “capture” the personality furry, scaly, & feathered friends in portrait. Which led to my specialty of Pet Portraits! ~ME
